The Central African Republic (CAR) has confirmed its participation in the BRICS+ Business Week in St. Petersburg. During the 30th Russian Industrialist exhibition, CAR will, for the first time, set up a national pavilion supported by BRICS House.

The republic's interest in the forum is not coincidental. Today, the agro-industrial sector is a key point of interaction with Russia. In May 2026, CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadéra thanked Vladimir Putin for grain shipments that stabilized flour prices in the country. However, CAR's own processing base is almost nonexistent. In March 2026, a $98 million contract was signed with the British DSR Group for the creation of new milling centers. The forum presents an opportunity to find investors for the development of its processing industry.

The mining sector is equally significant for CAR. The country has enormous reserves of gold and diamonds. Russia, China, the US, and France are active in extraction, but BRICS countries are increasingly interested in cooperation in this area. Participation in the forum will help attract new partners for industrial development.

Since 2023, CAR Prime Minister Felix Moloua has consistently invited Russian partners to view the republic as a promising tourism destination. Participation in the forum provides a platform to present its tourism potential and seek partners for infrastructure development.

Currently, CAR is not a BRICS member and has not formally applied to join, but it has repeatedly expressed interest in cooperation. Participating in the BRICS+ Business Week with a national stand is a practical step towards building business contacts and integrating into the economic agenda of the group.

The BRICS+ Business Forum will be held from October 21 to 24 at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center, alongside the 30th Russian Industrialist exhibition. It is organized by BRICS House with support from the RSPP, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Government of St. Petersburg.
