Guinea Confirms Participation in BRICS+ Business Week

The Acting Chargé d'Affaires and Minister-Counselor of the Guinean Embassy in Russia, Dr. Allassori Sankhon, confirmed Guinea's participation in the BRICS+ Business Week, taking place from October 19 to 24, 2026, in St. Petersburg. The diplomat will join the BRICS+ country delegations at the Business Forum, part of the 30th International Russian Industrialist Forum-Exhibition.

Dr. Sankhon's role extends beyond protocol; he is actively involved in strengthening Russian-Guinean ties. Alongside the Guinean ambassador, he visited Volgograd State Medical University to discuss educational programs for Guinean students. In August 2024, at the opening of the 16th International Military Music Festival in Moscow, he represented the Guinean Amazons military band. By July 2026, Dr. Sankhon was negotiating with the Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry regarding strategic partnerships between the chambers of commerce, marking a shift from humanitarian to economic cooperation.

Guinea's participation in the forum is more than just diplomatic representation. The country, rich in bauxite, gold, diamonds, uranium, and iron ore, views BRICS as a platform for attracting investment and technological partnerships. For the Guinean delegation, the forum will provide an opportunity for direct discussions with potential investors and industrial companies that can turn the country's resource potential into real joint projects in mining, energy, and workforce training.

The BRICS+ Business Forum will be held from October 21 to 24 at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center, alongside the 30th Russian Industrialist exhibition. It is organized by BRICS House with support from the RSPP, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Government of St. Petersburg. Over 50,000 participants are expected. Speakers include Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, RSPP President Alexander Shokhin, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov, and BRICS House President Sergey Ladochkin.
